strategic area:
Optimal Operation of Urban Environmental Systems

project title:
Optimal Operation of Urban Environmental Systems (project two)

project period:
January 1, 2006 – December 31, 2007

project description:
Predictions for the Øresund Region show a large growth rate for both population and industrial development. This growth will increase the strain on the infrastructure of the larger cities, such as drain systems and purification plants. As there is a general problem in finding room for expansion of these infrastructures in built-up urban areas, the present facilities must be able to encompass expansion of capacity in compact units.

The purpose of the project is to become a contributing factor in the development of practical applicable methods for the increase of treatment facilities and optimise the operation of drain systems and purification plants in the Øresund Region. Equally, the project aims at a furthering of competence development in the wastewater sector in the Øresund Region.

project type:
Research and technology development.

means of finance:
Interreg III a Øresund.

primary project participants:
The project will be executed in a partnership between the three largest public companies that work with the operation of purification plants in the Øresund Region:
