Øresund Environment Academy works through the creation of networks between people. In the process of doing so, a number of projects have emerged. The projects vary in scale, budget and length of time. Below you'll find a short introduction to each of the projects.

 
 

 environmental education
Øresund Environment Academy undertake initiatives to support and further develop the many regional environmental education programmes and courses.

 tools for regional innovation
A new project that pertains to strengthen the sustainable development in the Øresund Region. The focus of the project will be on a furthering of innovation and development in small and medium sized enterprises in the Region, as well as on the development of a toolbox for innovation.

In joint co-operation with other partners from Øresund Science Region, Øresund Environment Academy works with developing new tools for innovators as well as new cross-cutting projects.

Joint Danish-Swedish research project on optimal operation of urban environmental systems such as waste- and wastewater treatment plants.


 course on industrial ecology and sustainable development
“An interdisciplinary approach to industrial sustainability: Industrial ecology and industrial symbiosis” is the title of a new summer course launched by two of the regions leading institutes of higher education, the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and Lund University (LU), in collaboration with Øresund Environment Academy.

The Øresund University offers a course that aims at teaching the the methods and tools that are key requisits for understanding, analysing, designing and managing systems of industrial ecology. The course is based on project based learning, and as a key driver case of demonstration, the systems of beverage packaging in a modern society are targeted.

Øresund Environment Academy has in cooperation with ScanBalt launched a project on Environmental and Biotechnological Research and Development in the Scandinavian-Baltic Region. The first activity to be developed is a project on bio-fuels and in particular bio-ethanol.

culturally driven business developments
The project on Culturally Driven Business Development strives to develop and strengthen the the innovative cooperation between arts and industries and will facilitate the bridging of gaps between these two sectors.

Responsible Leadership Forum – Øresund - was created in 2004. The motive for creating a forum is the recognition that understanding and managing emergent dilemmas from business in the society and natural environment interactions are important challenges for the leadership role in organisations

optimal operation of urban environmental systems (project two)
The purpose of this project is to become a contributing factor in the development of practical aplicable methods for the increase of treatment facilities, and also to optimise the operation of drain systems and purification plants in the Øresund Region. The project aims at a furthering of competence in the wastewater sector in the Øresund Region.  
 

 course on advanced wastewater treatment
Øresund Environment Academy puts focus on the latest development within urban wastewater treatment through the coordination of a new course based on distance learning. “Advanced wastewater treatment in big cities” is the title of this novel joint initiative between Lund Institute of Technology (LTH) and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

A new project that pertains to deploy previous experience from sustainable building projects in the øresund region, whereby the implementation of many visionary building projects in the region can be futhered.
