Øresund Environment Academy is a non-profit network organisation, founded by the Øresund University in 2001. We aid and create networks transcending national and academic borders in The Øresund Region with environment as our key word. We form a natural link between research, the business community and the public sector in the region.

Our mission is to make The Øresund Region better known as a world leading environmental cluster. We provide a forum where business, the R&D community and authorities can create new contacts, thus facilitating the development of new research and innovative projects in the region. We promote dissemination, innovation and commercialisation of environmental knowledge and research.

Øresund Environment Academy arranges workshops, network meetings and seminars working with environmentally related matters in The Øresund Region.

As one of our outcomes, we have been able to attract funding for different research and development projects across the Øresund. Thus, Øresund Environment Academy has in 2005 attracted more than two million Euros in project funding. Apart from that, we have developed 12 new cross-boarder networks between Denmark and Sweden, as well as Scandinavian and Baltic networks.

Øresund Environment Academy is a part of the Øresund Science Region. The organisation is managed by a board of directors, and daily business is run by a secretariat.
